“Month for the Poor 2023” launched

(VOVWORLD) - Activities and programs will be held during the “Month for the Poor 2023" which was launched nationwide on Tuesday to mobilize resources to help the poor, near-poor, and people in extremely difficult circumstances, with priority given to remote border areas, islands, and areas damaged by natural disasters.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, policies and programs on poverty reduction have been implemented comprehensively, improving the lives of the poor and guaranteeing social security.

In the first half of this year, the Ministry coordinated with other ministries and sectors to guide localities in promptly implementing such poverty reduction policies as the policies on preferential credit, vocational training, support for workers from poor households and ethnic minority households to work abroad for a limited period of time, and support for health, education, housing, water, sanitation, electricity, and legal aid.
