MPI pushes on with goals of halving business investment conditions

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) is gearing up to achieve the Government’s goals of cutting business investment conditions and specialized inspection procedures for export goods by 50%, and reducing other administrative procedures as set in a government resolution last year, said Minister Nguyen Chi Dung.

Mr. Dung outlined the MPI’s goals during a working session with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday. He said the Ministry will accelerate economic restructuring and growth model reform, and promote growth quality, labor productivity, and competitiveness of the economy. It will also look to create strong changes in the structure of each sector and public investment, while developing synchronous infrastructure on the basis of effective public-private partnership.

Mr. Dung added the Ministry will create favorable conditions for smart production models, smart cities, green growth and clean energy, and improve communities’ resilience to climate change.

Prime Minister Phuc asked the Ministry to craft an action plan on cutting costs for businesses to improve their competitiveness.
