NA Chairman: Vietnam attaches importance to its relationship with Japan

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to its relationship with Japan.

At a meeting with President of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan Kenta Izumi in Hanoi on Wednesday, Mr. Hue expressed his hope that the two countries will strengthen relations across the channels of the Party, the Government, the National Assembly, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, and enhance cooperation between businesses and localities.

Mr. Hue highly appreciated Japan's political parties for being consistent in consolidating the extensive strategic partnership with Vietnam.

Both leaders agreed to promote cooperation in high technology, climate change response, socio-economic development, defense and security.

They will also share experience in institutional building, digital transformation, and energy transition to achieve their respective goals and contribute to global goals.

They reached consensus on maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea and peaceful settlement of disputes in line with international law.
