Following the opening session, the deputies discussed the current implementation of both the socio-economic development and budget plans. They agreed that the Vietnamese economy still faces numerous difficulties and challenges. NA Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty said: “The number of newly-established enterprises is high but not their effectiveness. FDI enterprises have high export values but their contribution to the state budget is limited because they enjoy a lot of preferences while domestic enterprises face difficulties in accessing preferential capitals. We need to look at this issue thoroughly to help domestic enterprises.”

Some deputies asked the government to improve growth quality to ensure sustainability and carefully consider plans to increase crude oil and mineral exploitation to achieve the target growth rate.
