NA Standing Committee convenes its 29th session

(VOVworld)- The 29th session of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on Monday. In his address, the National Assembly’s Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung highlighted the importance of the session saying that law building would top the agenda of the session.

The delegates will also review the outcome of the 7th session and preparation for the 8th session of the National Assembly. Discussing the draft Law on Citizen Identification, the deputies agreed on the need to develop a separate chapter on national database of citizens and personal identification numbers. Dao Trong Thi is head of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youths, Pioneers and Children: “The national database on citizens will enable the update and access of information. This will be a unified system of a citizen database”.

The deputies also discussed the draft law on births, deaths and marriages. National Assembly Chairman Hung said that the two draft laws should clarify which ministries and sectors would be in charge of the national database on citizens.
