(VOVworld) – On Monday, the Chairman of the Committee for the Drafting of the 1992 Constitutional Revision and Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Sinh Hung, certified the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as approved at the 6^th session of the 13^th National Assembly on November 28^th.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and other representatives from the ministries and sectors attended the ceremony. Hung affirmed that the Constitution was an extremely important political and legal document, a core State law reflecting the people’s will and interests as well as creating strategies for further national development in the modern era: "The Constitution once again affirms the everlasting spirit of the Vietnamese nation, which highly respects the over-arching rights of the people, and reflects the noble values and advanced democratic nature of the Vietnamese State regime during the transition period towards socialism. The new Constitution clearly defines the political mechanism, and the nature of economics, culture, education, science, technology, environment, national defence, the organization of State apparatus, and the validity and revisions of the Constitution. It also confirms the national sovereignty of Vietnam’s people, and the independence and territorial integrity of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".
