National Assembly Chairman meets with Lao leaders
(VOV/VOVworld)- The 7th Asian Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting opened in Vientiane, Laos today drawing the participation of 43 member countries. In his speech, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung reiterated that Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the international community. On Tuesday, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung held talks with Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong after paying a courtesy visit to General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone.
During talks, Chairman Hung said hosting the ASEF 7 and the ASEM 9, proved Laos to be an active member of the international community. The Vietnamese NA leader suggested that the two countries continue coordination to improve the efficiency of cooperation activities, especially increasing two-way trade to 1 billion USD this year.
