National Assembly Chairman urges more incentives for medical staff

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has thanked the silent sacrifices and contributions of doctors, nurses, health workers, and volunteers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday in Hanoi, Chairman Hue met with medical staff from 22 central hospitals, representing nearly 3,000 people, who will be deployed to Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces to help fight pandemic in Vietnam’s COVID-19 epicenter.

He suggested that Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces continue to strictly implement social distancing. The health sector must strengthen the treatment system, especially active resuscitation, urgently replenish medical supplies and equipment, focusing on emergency work to quickly reduce mortality rate, Mr. Hue said. He urged for vaccine coverage as soon as possible and taking care of the people's health.

“The Ministry of Health continues to coordinate with central and local agencies to continue to have timely guidelines, support and motivate the frontliners and other health workers participating in pandemic prevention and control. The Government is drafting a resolution, stipulating a number of special and specific solutions. The National Assembly Standing Committee is urgently appraising it to reply to the Government soon so that the Government can make a decision.”

The National Assembly Chairman said he hopes that medical staff will continue to promote their talent and professional qualification to help the southern provinces and cities soon control the disease and return to normal.
