National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong says Vietnam treasures China’s support for its national construction and defense. During her visit to China last week, Ms Phong met with leaders of the Chinese National People’s Congress and stressed the importance of maintaining a stable Vietnam-China relationship pointing out that this will benefit both nations in their renewal and socio-economic growth and increase stability in the region and the world. Both sides agreed on the need to further the Sino-Vietnamese comprehensive strategic cooperation and enhance bilateral cooperation and mutual support in multi-lateral forums.

Ms Phong yesterday left Shanghai for Tokyo to attend the 20th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum.
