(VOVworld) – On Saturday afternoon, National Assembly deputies discussed the draft Law on Information Safety at the ongoing National Assembly session.

The deputies agreed that increasing number of incidents of information leakage has caused negative impacts on the operation of state agencies, enterprises and stirred public concern. The promulgation of the Law on Information Safety is essential to create a legal corridor on information safety and enhance the role and responsibility of state management agencies in this sector. Some deputies said regulations on protecting online personal information should be a fundamental content but it is still limited in the draft law. Besides, there is no clear distinction in collecting, processing and using of personal information provided by service suppliers or posted online by individuals themselves, thus it is difficult to trace responsibility of related parties in protecting and assuring safety for personal information.
