National Assembly Standing Committee opens 13th session

(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 13th session in Hanoi on Thursday.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the Standing Committee will discuss amendments to the Law on Forest Protection and Development, the Law on Fisheries, the Public Debt Management Law, and the Law on Denunciation. Legislation on investment and utilization of build-operate-transfer (BOT) transportation projects will be revised. Chairwoman Ngan added that Q&A sessions on construction planning, architecture, and urban infrastructure will be included in the session, which will run until next Friday.

Following the opening session, delegates discussed the revised Bill on National Defense, which has 7 Chapters, 2 less than the 2005 Law. Revisions aim to institutionalize the 2013 Constitution on national defense and overcome limitations and issues in the current legal system.
