National Assembly to discuss key personnel

(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee will report on the resignation of the National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Electoral Council at the ongoing National Assembly session on Wednesday. National Assembly deputies will also discuss and vote on personnel for these posts. Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly Le Minh Thong said: “One of the key issues of this National Assembly session is to complete the state leadership. The whole process will be carried out in line with Vietnamese law. The 4 leaders of Vietnam will be sworn in for the first time according to the 2013 Constitution.”

National Assembly deputies will spend 10 days on completing the state leadership which includes the President, the Prime Minister, and the National Assembly chairman. A number of officials who were elected to the Party politburo and have been assigned new tasks will resign from their former posts. The National Assembly will also approve a number of cabinet members, elect Deputy chairpersons of the National Assembly, and a number of members of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
