New Chief of Vietnam People’s Army General Staff appointed
(VOVworld) - Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Defence Minister, has been appointed as Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

President Tran Dai Quang handed over the decision to him at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Saturday. The State leader recognized Mr. Giang’s outstanding performance and asked him to spare no efforts to serve the Party, State and people. He expressed his belief that the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff will continue to fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party, State, Army and people.
The President also congratulated other military officials on their promotion to Major General, Lieutenant General and Naval Rear Admiral ranks.
