(VOVworld) – The Presidential Office on Friday held a press briefing to announce four new laws and one ordinance approved by the National Assembly at its recent session. These include the Law on Science and Technology, the Law on Terrorism Prevention and Control, the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the Law on National Defense and Security Education and an Ordinance on amendments to the Ordinance on Foreign Exchange.

The Law on Science and Technology for the first time touches upon renewals in investment in science and technology including preferential policies for scientists. The Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control clarifies the 19 main forms of natural disasters that occur in Vietnam and the 7 fundamental principles of Vietnam’s disaster prevention policies. The Ordinance on amendments to the Ordinance on Foreign Exchange aims to ensure the unity of the legal system and to adjust the foreign exchange activities of organizations and individuals.  

In the afternoon, the Presidential Office continued to announce 5 more laws and another ordinance. These include the revised Law on Value-added Tax, the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, the Law on Grassroots Reconciliation, the revised Law on Residence, and the revised Enterprise Law.
