No Vietnamese killed, injured in Osaka earthquake

(VOVWORLD) - There is so far no report on any Vietnamese killed or injured in the 6.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Osaka, Japan, on Monday morning, said the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka.

The Vietnamese Consulate General said it contacted local authority for information. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested the diplomatic office to keep a close watch on the situation and be ready to protect rights of Vietnamese citizens if necessary. The powerful earthquake killed three people and injured 300. It also suspended train operations during the morning commuting hours and disrupted the operation of many companies.
