(VOVworld) – The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Friday that Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Labor Party, met Salvador Valdes Mesa, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) and Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba.

Mr. Mesa arrived in North Korea on Tuesday as a special envoy of Cuban President Raul Castro. His three-day visit aims to promote Cuba’s diplomatic relations with North Korea.

Mr. Kim said he believes their bilateral friendship will continue to develop. Mr. Mesa said it is Cuba’s consistent diplomatic policy to strengthen relations with North Korea.
