Operation Smile to offer more support for Vietnamese children

(VOVWORLD) - Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh expressed her hope that the US organization Operation Smile will continue providing plastic surgery to children with facial defects during a meeting with CEO William P. Magee in Hanoi on Thursday.

Thinh praised the contribution Operation Smile has made to the lives of hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese children with cleft palates and harelips. She said Vietnam will work with and create optimal conditions for the organisation to help more Vietnamese children with congenital defects.

Mr. Magee said, as one of the first US NGOs to work in Vietnam, Operation Smile has been committed to providing free medical services to disadvantaged Vietnamese children. He asked Vietnam to support future programs to help even more children.
