Overseas Vietnamese donate to build schools on Sinh Ton Island

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Nguyen Thiep presented 1000 euros to the Fund “For our beloved students in Truong Sa archipelago” on Thursday in Ho Chi Minh City. Former Vice State President Truong My Hoa said that after 3 months, a campaign to collect money to build schools at the island commune of Sinh Ton has attracted the participation of 250 units and individuals, many of whom are from overseas, generating nearly 100,000 USD.

Earlier, overseas Vietnamese had contributed another 100,000 USD to build schools on Big Truong Sa Island. Ms. Truong My Hoa said: "The contribution of overseas Vietnamese is of great significance. Regardless their circumstances, overseas Vietnamese always turn their hearts and souls towards their motherland. We highly appreciate their concerns and contributions to build schools for students on Truong Sa island, considering this an act of patriotism."
