Palestinian Authority announces new Cabinet

(VOVWORLD) -The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Thursday announced the formation of a new Cabinet amid growing international pressure on reform.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas announced a presidential decree, which recognizes the new Cabinet submitted by new Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa, who said the new government's top priority is ending the Gaza conflict.

The new PA cabinet will comprise of 23 ministers, including three women and six from Gaza.

On March 14, President Abbas appointed Mohammad Mustafa, a longtime economic advisor, to be Prime Minister. Mustafa has pledged to form a technocratic government and create an independent trust fund to help rebuild Gaza.

As planned, the Cabinet members will be sworn in on Sunday.
