VOVworld)- Panamanian president Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal today/ on Saturday concluded his visit to Vietnam. This is the first visit to Viet Nam by a head of state of Panama since the two countries established their diplomatic ties in 1975. During his visit, President Ricardo met with Vietnamese top leaders including Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung. The two sides witnessed the signing ceremony of an Agreement on cultural cooperation and a memorandum of understanding on establishing a mechanism for political reference between the two foreign ministries. Leaders of Vietnam’s Party and State asked Panamanian Government to continue creating favorable conditions for Panamanian enterprises to do business in Vietnam as well as support Vietnamese enterprises working on construction, ship building in Panama and open to Vietnamese goods. Vietnamese leaders also called for more mutual support on the regional and international forums. The two countries also agreed on measures to boost bilateral cooperation and exchanges between delegations for better mutual understanding. Panama is to open a maritime representative offices in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh city
