He said during talks with Indonesia’s President and other leaders, both countries agreed on major orientations to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership for the interests of their people and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Party leader Trong suggested both sides boost their bilateral relations and effectively implement signed agreements. He said the Communist Party of Vietnam respects and wants to strengthen ties with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, considering it a firm political foundation for developing bilateral relations.

The PDI-P leader agreed with Mr.Trong on measures to tighten the two parties’ relations, including sending her Party's delegations to Vietnam to share their leadership experience.

On the same day, during his official visit to Indonesia, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited the Indonesia Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). In his speech at the center, the Party leader praised the significant role of ASEAN, the world’s 7^th largest economy, for creating regional benefits for members and outside countries as a dynamic economic region and unity. He said Vietnam and Indonesia shared many common values and traditional cooperation and would promote a people-centered ASEAN for peace, stability and cooperation.
