Afterwards, the Party leader traveled to Montreuil where he paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his statue and visited Ho Chi Minh space in Montreuil Park. Montreuil city mayor Patrice Bessac expressed his honor to receive Mr. Trong on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties and the 5th anniversary of their strategic partnership. He added the city will continue to cooperate with Vietnam’s Hai Duong province to contribute to developing ties between the two countries.

Party leader Trong said he is glad to visit Montreuil, a familiar place, where the statue of President Ho Chi Minh is located and to meet the French friends of Vietnam. Mr. Trong said: “The Vietnam-France relations are special and time-honored. During his first days working in France, President Ho Chi Minh created the close relationship between Communists and people of Vietnam and France. We are thankful to members of the Communist Party of France and the French progressive people for supporting and assisting us during our prolonged revolutionary struggles. And the two countries’ ties are now flourishing.”
