The Party leader thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders for sending condolences to Vietnam and thanked the Chinese delegation for paying tribute to President Tran Dai Quang. He called for more practical cooperation for mutual benefit and respect while properly settling difference at sea and fostering bilateral friendship. Mr Zhao Leji wished for more cooperation between the two Parties’ inspection agencies and promote bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.

The same day, the Party leader received a Cuban high-ranking delegation led by Vice President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers Roberto Morales Ojeda. He spoke highly of Cuba’s dedication of two-day national mourning in remembrance of President Tran Dai Quang. He pledged to strengthen the exemplary and traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and unity between Vietnam and Cuba. The Cuban leader praised President Tran Dai Quang’s contribution to national construction and defense as well as to special relations between Vietnam and Cuba.
