(VOVWORLD) - Kien Giang province will build Phu Quoc city into a grade-1 city by 2025 and a national and global island tourist city.

In the socio-economic development strategy for the 2021-2025 period, Phu Quoc island will promote high-quality and sustainable tourism and make it one of its spearhead economies. Phu Quoc tourism trademark will offer many unique products and services, connecting with other regions and the world. It aims to welcome 10 million tourists in 2025, including more than 4 million foreigners.
Phu Quoc also aims to develop other services such as finance, banking, telecommunication, transport, healthcare, and trade. It will continue to improve the quality of Phu Quoc products, including Phu Quoc fish sauce to be exported to the EU and other markets.
