(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Hanoi on Friday after attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia 2012 in Bangkok. The forum was to disseminate the position and image of the East Asia - a region with robust development and an impetus for the global economic recovery. The event centered on developing the future of region through connectivity. In an interview with VOV reporter, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Vinh appreciated the significance of the forum and Vietnamese delegation’s contributions. Vinh said Vietnam has contributed to East Asia’s joint efforts to promote sustainable development and connectivity in the region. Vinh said: “While attending the forum, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung put forward important proposals based on his experience. First, it’s necessary to accelerate cooperation in the region to promote economic development and connectivity among countries. Second, the Prime Minister stressed that countries should be more proactive in cooperation and connectivity to ensure sustainable economic growth. Third, he warned of the challenges and difficulties facing the region such as the impact of global economic crisis, natural disaster, and diseases, calling on East Asian countries to strengthen closer coordination of policies to address these issues. Fourth, he underlined that the region needs an environment of peace, and political stability to ensure sustainable development and maritime freedom in the East Sea”.
