PM asks for absolute security for IPU-132

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked for absolute security for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly (IPU-132), to be held in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1.

In a dispatch issued Monday, PM Dung said the successful organization of the event will raise the prestige and position of Vietnam and the National Assembly in the international arena and bolster its friendship and cooperation with other countries and major international organizations.

He asked ministries and agencies to take every necessary step to ensure safety for the event. The Minister of Public Security was asked to thoroughly monitor the situation before, during, and after the event to avoid any surprises and prevent any security violations which could disrupt the event’s activities. PM Dung also ordered ministries, sectors, and localities to intensify disease and food hygiene inspections in Hanoi and other localities involved in the event and to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
