PM calls for IT infrastructure, human resources for 4th Industrial Revolution

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stressed the task of IT infrastructure and human resource development for Vietnam to take advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

He addressed the Industry 4.0 Summit and Exhibition 2018 entitled “Vision and Development Strategy in the 4th Industrial Revolution”, in Hanoi on Friday: "What should we do to leverage the 4th Industrial Revolution? What policies and laws should be adopted? Another issue is human resource development. In Vietnam, 40% of the workforce is involved in agriculture with low productivity. That’s why the education sector should provide knowledge and skills to workers.”

At the event, Sophia, the world's first AI-powered robot talked to delegates about the 4th Industrial Revolution, automation and the developmental challenges. Sophia is the first non-human Innovation Champion for UNDP in Asia and the Pacific.
