PM calls for solidifying Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has received Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance and Honorary Chairman of the organizing board for the 9th Japan-Vietnam Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting in Hanoi on Thursday, Prime Minister Chinh praised the good results of cooperation between the two countries in 2023, a year that celebrated the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations and the historic milestone of upgrading the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Prime Minister said he hopes Mr. Takebe will continue working to solidify the partnership through projects and programs in education, tourism, and investment; trade and tourism cooperation between localities; and cultural and people-to-people exchange activities.

Mr. Chinh stressed the importance of cooperation in human resource training and improving the working conditions and quality of life of Vietnamese working in Japan.

Mr. Takebe promised to continue to support cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the areas the Prime Minister mentioned, and to actively contribute to developing the bilateral relationship.
