PM leaves for ASEAN leaders’ gathering, visit to Indonesia

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Hanoi on Thursday for the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank (WB) annual meetings in Bali, Indonesia, and a 2-day working visit to Indonesia.

The move aims to show that Vietnam is an active and responsible ASEAN member and demonstrate the importance that Vietnam attaches to the world’s biggest multilateral institutions and host Indonesia, thereby raising promote Vietnam’s stature in the region and the world.

Prime Minister Phuc’s Indonesia visit is an illustration of Vietnam’s high regard for Indonesia and its willingness to coordinate closely with Indonesia and other countries in building a Southeast Asia of peace, stability, unity, prosperity, and sustainable development.
