PM points out key words in activating private sector

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh co-chaired the Plenary Session of the Vietnam Private Sector  Economic Forum 2019 in Hanoi on Thursday.

In his address the Prime Minister highlighted Vietnam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements after more than 30 years of renewal praising the important role of the private sector. He said the government and the Prime Minister himself have always supported entrepreneurship. He stressed the importance of business aspiration, righteousness, patriotism, social responsibility, and business code of ethics. He said: “A strong private sector, an effective State business sector, and a dynamic cooperative sector will create a prosperous and sustainable future for the Vietnamese economy. A strong private sector will help increase our soft power and influence regionally and internationally.”

After the opening session, the Prime Minister and other leaders of the Party, State and Ministries discussed with enterprises ways to boost the private sector. The Prime Minister said: “Key words to boost the private sector include creating equality, being encouraged and protected, and being given opportunities. The private sector enjoys equality before the law and in competition and resource allocation as other economic sectors. They are protected in terms of property rights, freedom to business, and a favorable business environment. Their legitimate rights are protected in line with law. They are also provided with opportunities to access market technology, reduce business costs and product prices, and access a transparent business environment.”
