PM receives Malaysian and Cambodian Ambassadors to Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Malaysian Ambassador Dato Tan Yang Thai and Cambodian Ambassador Chea Kimtha in Hanoi on Friday.

At the meeting with the Malaysian Ambassador, Prime Minister Chinh affirmed that Vietnam values the friendship and strategic partnership with Malaysia. He expected that the Ambassador during his term will actively promote his role as an important bridge to develop this relationship more deeply and effectively.

The Ambassador pledged to make efforts to further the cooperative ties between the two countries, especially in agriculture, Halal industry, education-training, digital transformation, digital security, and science-technology.

He also said that Malaysia is ready to welcome foreign workers, including Vietnamese workers after the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on labor cooperation signed between the two countries in March, 2022.

Receiving the Cambodian Ambassador, Prime Minister Chinh congratulated Chea Kimtha on her appointment as Cambodia's first female Ambassador to Vietnam and congratulated Cambodia on its great achievements in domestic and foreign affairs, especially its ASEAN Chair 2022.

The Prime Minister said he believes that Cambodia will successfully organize 7th National Assembly election and the 32nd Southeast Asian Games. PM Chinh affirmed Vietnam's willingness to support and share experiences for Cambodia to successfully host this regional sporting event.

Chea Kimtha thanked Vietnam for the support that it has given Cambodia in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the ASEAN Summit 2022,  as well as for co-organizing the SEA Games Torch Relay Ceremony involving 400 people.

She expressed her wish that Vietnam will continue to support and share experiences for Cambodia to successfully organize the upcoming SEA Games. The Ambassador pledged to make every effort to contribute to promoting the two countries' relations and to the shared development and prosperity.
