Police should be key force in safeguarding national security: Party leader
(VOVWORLD) -The police force will shoulder heavy missions in 2018 and effectively implement the 12th Party Congress resolution during a pivotal year for Vietnam and the world which are experiencing fast-changing developments.

The remark was made by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at Monday’s conference on the performance of the police in 2017 and 2018. Mr Trong urged the police to focus more on preventing sabotage schemes and fabrications, particularly on the internet.
“The police should be the key force in ensuring national security, contributing to protecting Vietnam’s independence and sovereignty and maintaining political stability. It should improve forecast ability to detect early threats to national security and interests,” he noted.
