Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida received To Huy Rua, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization

(VOVworld) – To Huy Rua, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization, led a delegation of the Vietnam-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group to visit Japan from August 1-5. The visit was at the invitation of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance. At a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last Friday, Rua said Vietnam appreciates the relationship with Japan which has been demonstrated by regular visits and arrangement of personnel in Vietnam-Japan cooperative organizations. Prime Minister Abe said that his first overseas visit right after taking office was to Vietnam reflected Japan’s special regard for its ties with Hanoi. Abe pledged to do his part in boosting bilateral ties to a new height. Earlier, Rua paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso, and met with Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and Japanese Communist Party President Kazuo Shii.

Rua attended a ceremony to present a Friendship Medal to former Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Alliance Tsutomu Takebe and visited the Canon group.

On his first day in Japan, Rua held talks with Speaker of the House of Representatives Buimei Ibuki, Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Alliance Toshihiro Nikai, and Chairman of the Japan Business Federation Takahashi Kyohei. The two sides pledged to do their best to strengthen bilateral ties.
