Positive sign for Vietnam's wood exports
(VOVWORLD) - In January wood and wood products were the only Vietnamese agricultural items with an export turnover exceeding 1 billion USD.

They accounted for 29% of the total export turnover, the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Tuesday.
This is a positive sign for the wood industry following last year’s negative growth.
The 15th Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA EXPO 2024) will open in Ho Chi Minh City next Monday. 600 businesses will participate in the 4-day event, half of them are foreign businesses from 17 countries and territories.
Dang Quoc Hung of the organizing board said contracts worth 100 million USD were signed at last year’s VIFA EXPO.
“China has 4 delegations who have registered to buy goods. There are also delegations from Pakistan and Canada. We sponsor the participant delegations, providing free accommodations and shuttle buses, in the hope of bring Vietnamese businesses enough orders to make them profitable this year," said Hung.
