President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Sri Lanka under construction

(VOVworld)- Construction work on a monument to President Ho Chi Minh began in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, on Monday. Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ton Sinh Thanh thanked Sri Lankan authorities for creating favorable conditions for the construction of the monument. He said the monument is expected to be inaugurated later this year. The Colombo Governor emphasized that the building of the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Sri Lanka not only pays respect to Vietnam’s world famous leader, but also honors the people of Sri Lanka and Colombo city in particular. The Governor pledged to create all possible conditions to complete the monument as soon as possible.
