President Ho Chi Minh’s 134th birth anniversary commemorated in Vietnam, abroad

(VOVWORLD) - A wide range of activities are taking place in Vietnam and abroad to mark the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

The National Political Publishing House on Saturday released a book which features some articles and speeches by President Ho Chi Minh guiding the development of Vietnamese culture.

The 2024 Sen Village Singing Festival is taking place across Nghe An province, the hometown of President HCM. The event, which attracts nearly 600 local artists, aims to promote the campaign of following President HCM’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle.

The 3-day Duong No village festival opened on Saturday, featuring an art program, a lantern release event, and a photo exhibition. Duong No village is a special national relic site in Hue city, where Ho Chi Minh lived and studied from 1898 to 1900.   

In the Czech Republic, the Nghe Tinh Fellow Countrymen Association hosted an art program on Saturday in honor of President HCM. Performances by overseas Vietnamese praised President Ho and the homeland.

In France, the Vietnamese Embassy in France, the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium, and authorities of Montreuil city in suburban Paris organized a flower offering ceremony at the statue of President HCM in Montreau Park on Saturday.

The delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Space at a museum in the park, which preserves many valuable artifacts and images about President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities.
