(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang has inspected the sea dyke system and examined the lives of local people in the coastal provinces of Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

He said sea dyke consolidation was an urgent task as part of climate change response. He called for more capital mobilization, including overseas finances, and appropriate technical solutions to protect flood prone areas: “We must develop solutions to minimize the impact of climate change. The government will initiate training and allocate more resources to help vulnerable areas build up their resilience as a long term task.”

In his working session with the south western steering committee, he said the improvement of production area zoning and the restructuring of plant and animal farming are needed to ensure a better balance in supply and demand and prevent economic losses to farmers.

During a separate visit, he urged Military Zone No9 to consolidate their people based strength and promote the implementation of Party resolutions on learning from President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
