President Sang wraps up visit to Kazakhstan

(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang and his delegation left Almaty yesterday concluding their visit to Kazakhstan, where Sang held talks with Senate Speaker Kairat Mami and House of Representatives Speaker Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin.

During their meeting, Mr Sang and Mr Mami expressed their delight at the fine development of bilateral political relations. They discussed measures to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ legislative bodies. They agreed to implement previously-signed agreements and pledged mutual support for each other at regional and international forums. In the meeting with Nurlan Nigmatulin, the two sides stressed the need to fully tap the potential for bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, oil and gas, garments, manufacturing, and tourism. Mr Sang laid a wreath at the martyrs’ monument to honor Kazakhstan soldiers who laid down their lives for national defense.

President Sang and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazabayev attended the opening of Vietnamese Cultural Days in Kazakhstan. During his stay, President Sang met some of the Kazakh experts who assisted Vietnam in its national construction and defense. At a meeting with Vietnamese diplomats and overseas Vietnamese living in Kazakhstan, the President praised their contributions to the homeland and urged them to serve as an economic and cultural bridge between the two countries.
