President Thuong’s official visit to Austria spotlighted by Austrian media

(VOVWORLD) -Most of Austria’s major media channels and newspapers ran stories Monday on the official visit to Austria by Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong and his wife, saying the trip enhances the countries’ long-standing relations.

The site vienna.at covered talks between the two leaders, citing President Thuong’s statement that Vietnam wants closer cooperation with Austria in politics, economy, culture, and sports, and quoting President Thuong as saying that he hopes the visit will create a new impetus for the relationship.

Austrian parliament’s website parlament.gv.at reported on the meeting between Thuong and President of the Federal Council Claudia Arpa, who highlighted Austria's interest in expanding its partnership with Vietnam.

The official website of Vienna (presse.wien.gv.at) quoted Mayor Michael Ludwig as stating that Thuong’s visit is an important step in maintaining and expanding the relationship between Vienna and Hanoi.

Other online newspapers in Austria, including diepresse.com, heute.at, vol.at, tvthek.orf.at, and puls24.at also covered the visit extensively, highlighting its significance in maintaining traditional relations and promoting future cooperation between Vietnam and Austria.
