President Tran Dai Quang receives UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam

(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang received new UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative, Kamal Malhotra, in Hanoi on Friday.

The President thanked the UN support for Vietnam over the past 40 years. He said Vietnam wished to cooperate more with the UN in climate change adaptation and pledged to be an active and responsible member of the international community and participate more in UN peace keeping missions. Malhotra said he expected to sign a plan of action in coping with El Nino as part of comprehensive cooperation program in Vietnam in the next 5 years.
