(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang has completed his 2-day working visit to Binh Thuan province to review local socio economic development, security and defense.

He called for provincial efforts to improve the infrastructure, human resources and administrative reform. In the context of world economic integration, he asked the province to define commodities of comparative advantage and promote greater scientific application in agriculture and offshore fishing. He said ministries should initiate appropriate policies to address fishermen’ difficulties in ship building to fuel economic development and protect national sovereignty.

The President visited Phan Thiet border guard station and urged soldiers to continue their protection of fishing activities and support local poverty reduction. Communications should help fishermen respect international laws to be secured in offshore fishing for national sovereignty protection.
