Speaking at the meeting, the President said being entrusted by the Party Central Committee, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, Party and State leaders, and the National Assembly to assume the office as President of Vietnam is a great honor and also a heavy responsibility.

The President emphasized the importance of being aware of the national development path and tasks assigned by the Party, people and army which require the President to make all-out effort and be resolute to fulfill his tasks according to the Constitution.

The President said he really needs the support of Party and State leader, the Party Politburo, the Party Secretariat, the National Assembly and the Government as well as contributions of the Presidential Office, the NA Office, the Government Office, ministries, and agencies to fulfill his tasks.

The same day, President Vo Van Thuong offered incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the House 67 in the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Complex in the Presidential Palace.
