(VOVworld) – Journalists from ASEAN and East Asian countries gathered at a round-table discussion in Kuala Lumpur on Friday to discuss the post-2015 ASEAN Community Vision, ASEAN's identity and the role of press in promoting moderation between ASEAN and East Asian countries.

Speaking at the event, ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh said communications and press played an important role in ASEAN's communications activities. Minh said at the 27th ASEAN Summit, leaders of ASEAN countries adopted the Declaration on the establishment of the ASEAN Community by the end of this year. One of ASEAN's priorities for the next ten years is to increase the public's understanding of the Community. Next year, ASEAN will launched a 30-minute program covering the Community's activities. The program will be broadcast every week in all ASEAN countries.
