Prime Minister attends Vietnam’s investment activities in Myanmar

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese delegation left Yangon for Hanoi on Tuesday after attending a number of summits in Myanmar.

Earlier, he attended a number of activities organized by the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Myanmar. He attended a check-and-take-over ceremony of phase 1 of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Complex in Yangoon and the inauguration ceremonies for the Finance Company and Insurance Corporation of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV). He also witnessed the signing of a number of cooperative agreements between BIDV and Myanmar’s banks. He praised the Association of Vietnamese investors in Myanmar and Vietnamese businesses for promoting economic, trade, and investment ties, helping to increase two-way trade to 500 million USD this year. He asked the Association to continue supporting Vietnamese businesses to invest in Myanmar in 12 priority areas including finance, banking, trade, investment, and real estate.
