Prime Minister chairs first meeting of Central Steering Committee on Defense Zone
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee on Defense Zone, emphasized the strategic importance of the building defense zones as he chaired the Committee’s first meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Mr. Phuc said the meeting inaugurates the Central Steering Committee on Defense Zone with new members and sets out solutions to implement the Party’s guidelines on defense and security. He called on the Committee to improve its operation and consolidate the all-people defense posture, creating a favorable environment for national socio-economic development. The meeting reviewed the Committee’s performance last year and in the first half of this year and worked on tasks for the remainder of the year and into 2018.
