Prime Minister receives Malaysian, Thai ambassadors

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the new Ambassadors of Malaysia and Thailand to Vietnam during separate receptions in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Meeting Malaysian Ambassador M. Zamruni Khalid, the Government leader said Vietnam values its strategic partnership with Malaysia and wants to make it stronger. He suggested Vietnam and Malaysia should soon put in place the Vietnam-Malaysia action plan for 2016-2018 and cooperative agreements, establish a deputy ministerial defense dialogue mechanism, and organize the fifth meeting of the Joint Committee on economic, scientific and technological cooperation in the third quarter. Mr. Phuc also asked Malaysia to encourage its enterprises to expand business in Vietnam and contribute more to Vietnam’s development.

Receiving Thai Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi, Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam - Thailand relations are developing steadily. He expressed thanks for Thailand’s gift of 100,000 USD to help Vietnam recover from drought and salt water intrusion in the Mekong Delta.   Phuc said that as two of the world’s three biggest rice exporters,  Vietnam and Thailand should work together to bring about benefits for their peoples.
