Prime Minister urges legislative cooperation with Thailand

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday met separately with President of the Privy Council Prem Tinsulanonda and President of the National Legislative Assembly Pornpetch Wichitcholchai as part of Mr. Phuc’s ongoing visit to Thailand.

At the meeting with the President of Privy Council, Prime Minister Phuc applauded the Thai Royal Family’s attention to boosting the friendly and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam since the two countries established their diplomatic ties. He thanked the Thai Royal Family for assisting Vietnamese expatriates in Thailand.

While meeting with the President of National Legislative Assembly, Prime Minister Phuc congratulated Thailand for adopting its new Constitution and expressed his belief that Thailand will successfully hold an election. He called on the two legislative agencies to maintain the exchange of visits to strengthen information sharing and mutual understanding. Mr. Phuc urged the two legislative agencies to work together to build an ASEAN Community through various channels, including the ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Alliance (AIPA).
