"Public security forces must ensure political security, social order"

(VOV) – Public security forces should continue to assist the Party and State to ensure political security, social order, and national sovereignty, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told the 68th National Conference of Public Security Forces in Hanoi on Monday.

This year, the people’s police force helped detect acts of sabotage causing social disorder by hostile forces and provided security for major political and cultural venues. The Prime Minister stressed that the foremost task of the public security force is to provide timely consultation to the Party and State to ensure social order and security. He asked the police force to continue thwarting acts of sabotage and schemes and reinforce national secrets protection and counter-espionage. Dung promised to modernize the Public Security sector with priority given to Intelligence, IT, and the mobile police force. The sector was urged to ensure security and traffic safety during the upcoming Lunar New Year festival.
