The event has helped promote the image of northwestern provinces and improve local tourism infrastructure and services.

Quang Ninh province, home to the popular Ha Long bay, will host National Tourism Year 2018. Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Northwestern Steering Committee, said: “Quang Ninh can draw some experiences from National Tourism Year 2017. It’s crucial to link marine and mountain tourism to create new products and strengthen connectivity between regions”.  

On this occasion, the resort town of Sa Pa in Lao Cai province is officially declared a national tourism site.
