Some 1,500 people took part in marches in Berlin, while another 1,200 took to the streets in Hanover. Several hundred demonstrators also gathered in the cities of Bremen, Munich, Cologne, Mainz and Leipzig. The marchers also called for an end to German arms supplies to Ukraine and the scrapping of plans to modernize the federal army.

The Leipzig march's co-organizer, Torsten Schleip, stressed that the possible solution now is an immediate ceasefire and the start of negotiations, rather than continuing to export arms and escalate tensions to the risk of confrontation with nuclear weapons.
